Got a JIC Hydro fitting leaking

I have TG Hydro Assist on my truck. My top #6 JIC fitting has always seeped a little bit but during a run this weekend it started pouring fluid. I pulled the fitting out of the box, cleaned it up, cut a row of threads off to make sure it was fully seating and reinstalled it with teflon tape and made sure I got it TIGHT. It's not gushing fluid but it's still leaking. I've heard that a JIC thread and standard thread are slightly different. I'm pretty sure it was tapped with a standard thread.

Do we have any hydraulic guys or anoyone else that might have any ideas on what I can do with the threads to keep it from leaking? I was thinking of trying to some blue loctite. I'm open to suggestions because right now I'm broke down till I get this thing to stop leaking.

Not sure on the threads, but you might try some liquid thread sealant used on gas piping, I've used Rector Seal on some of my fittings, picked up at my local hardware store (Orchard Supply).

Sometimes those fittings leak if you get them TOO tight.

hmmm.. interesting. I took it out just now after work today and poured some blue loctite on it. I put it back in there and will try in a few hours after that crap has had a little time to cure. I should have came and checked my thread first I guess.. I got it in there pretty dang tight.

Where is it leaking?

Out of the fitting in the box or out of the fitting where it is connected to the hose?

IIRC my JIC fitting was tapped into the box a standard NPT. It has been a while.

It's leaking where the fitting screws into the box... the JIC end.
