Fitting 37's

The 86 sasd 4runner im getting this week has the allpro 5 inch sas kit, 63" chevys in the rear with lift blocks and a 2" body lift. Can i fit 36x13.50 or 37x12.50 or am i going to have to stay with 35x12.50? Im very willing to use some fender flares.. however im a little wary of cutting up the body myself. And will firewall triming be neccesary?
Thanks for the info.
Andy

I've got a 84 pickup with 3" of body and 4" or more of suspension. 63" Chevys in the rear and 4" YJ lift leafs in the front. Tires are 38.5x14.5 TSLs.

The TSLs are pretty well cut up on the tread blocks from the inner fenders on the front. (inner fenders=firewall?) The inner fenders are trimmed a little and have been bashed in a good amount but need more trimming. Outer fenders are trimmed a good amount. Front stock bumper is gone.

In the rear the bed has been trimmed 4-5"+ along the horizontal the entire length so clearance there is fine. For a while I was considering replacement 37s for fender issues and u-joint health.

My guess is that 37s will for sure need inner fender trimming. 36s maybe some. Outer fenders need it in either case.

Hope this helps some.

Anything bigger than 35s and you'll need to do something like this IMO.

Hmm... can i trim the fenders without welding them up afterwards and then use bushwacker cut out flares and have it look good and not rub with 36x13.50s?

If you are gonna do it...IMO...do it right. Bushwackers would just get ripped off. Why get nice new rubber and then do a hack job on your fenders to scar up your tires on stuff? I think the extra effort is worth it as that is what I'm going to do to mine...some day :pat:

Move the front axle forward as far as possible with the SAS. This also means moving the steering box as far forward as possible. I have my front axle 2.75" forward from stock and that makes all the difference in the worls as far as tire/fender rubbing:

Stock:

2" forward:
