Eliminating fuel evap cans question

I am building a carb'd 84 22R SR5 bob'd longbed trail rig and am wanting to do away with all the unnecessary crap under the hood.
I am having brain farts when it comes to re-routing the fuel lines.

In my head it works like I drew it up but if that's the case.....I still have an open vent port on my tank.

Will this work?.....and I just plug the extra vent port on my tank of am I way off?

Suggestions?

TIA

if you remove the evap canister, you have nothing to control the vapor build up in your gastank. Not safe.

You mean other than the big vent line that runs up to the filler neck & vented cap?

I'm going to on it this weekend and was hoping to get a 'lil consensus from the yoat peeps before doing so.
It's shouldn't be very hard....I have just never messed with fuel systems much and wanted to get a heads up before I did. Besides, whatever I do can't be any worse than hooking it up backwards and getting fuel pouring out the evap cans. Peeps do that awl the time so.........I guess we'll see.

(off to get a couple fire extinguishers and a hose ready)

i dont think you realise how much fuel actually gets evaporated lol..
the gas only evaporates when there is enough air around it to get into the atmosphere. obviously in a gas tank there isn't that much air, hell, you couldnt even start a fire in a gas tank full of gas if you tried.

the fuel evap is there for a reason, and if you're worried about wasting gas, drain the tank after you're done wheeling and use it in your DD

ahhh...that's better

Sorry to disappoint but no hoses or fire extinguishers were needed.

OK, here's what I did.....

I ripped all vac lines off as well as evap cans, corresponding switches/sensors, and wiring harness pigtails.
I ran vac lines for the choke opened/closer, AAP, and vac. advance.
I ran the fuel lines like I drew it up except I put the filter between the tank and suction side of the pump due to space constraints.
I reinstalled the evap can by the firewall (the other was up front below the battery tray) and ran the tank vent to it.
I ran the vac line off the evap can straight into the manifold (no vsv).
That's it.

I wasn't so much set on eliminating the evap cans as much as I was simplifying things under the hood. I ended up keeping the one evap can as it was just the best option. I was able to eliminate the vsv on it's vac line and run just a single line to the manifold. The way it's plumb'd now, it's a catch can reservoir for leakage when I flop or roll. I was going to do the 3 sides and down thing but figured this a better option and it's mostly contained withing the intake system.
