D60 carrier breaks

Can someone help me understand this? From what I understand if you have 4.1 or lower (numericaly) gears 4.1 is the highest you can go. If you have 4.56 or higher you can go into the 5s and I think even higher than that.

If you have one with 4.10s and want to go with a 5.13 can you just get a locker that is made for the 4.56 and up gears and be fine?

Yes, most Dana axles have different carriers for the different gear ranges, so if you want to regear, you often have to buy a new locker/carrier. My understanding is there are no other changes and it just swaps in, but it is an extra expense over the "all the same" carriers like in a Toyota axle.
