Choosing a style of lift 2nd gen 4Runner
I need to choose a lift for my 92 4R SR5.
So far Im considering 1.5" Ball Joint Spacers for the front.
And Either 2" Coil Spacers, Land Cruiser Springs, or +2" HD OME Springs
OME springs are only 40 dollars more than the spacers. So thats where im leaning so far.
I will be doing a lot of long distanct with my 4Runner (long distance meaning as far south as Costa Rica)
But i will also be doing a lot of 4 wheeling along the way. I dont need alot of lift, 3" all the way around would almost be to much for the 4wheeling iv done... im riding with relativly stock suspension and have almost pushed this truck as far as it will be pushed suspension wise. so the lift is jsut going to help my tires fit and make it so im not stressing/breaking her so much when i do the things iv already done to her.
So what Im asking is what style of lift would you recomend? Spacers? Springs? Other? What other types of lift are there?
Iv already ordered Rancho RS9000X 9 way adjustable shocks and need to choose the lift relativly quikly so I know what size shocks to request.
What do you have? Hows it treating you?
(sorry if this is posted in the wrong place, let me know why if it gets moved so i can figure out placement
better)

Same set up and the heavy springs for the rear, just turn up the torsion bars a bit and it rids just fine. I had a bit of issues with the back spacing of my rims, "major tire rub" with the spacers, but they were stock rims and 10.5 width. Some did, some didn't, just something to keep in mind. The steel black wagon wheels solved that issue, and at only $35.00 a piece from a tire shop, and an allignment.
Might I suggest also to relocate your air intake. I am guessing you will hit some water holes along the way, and being that far from home a simple piece of 3" aluminum dryer vent, cut a hole in the inside of the interior of the fender and run it up inside the fender by the rear view mirror. Saved my but a couple times since I did it. and it only took about 45 minutes. having the air sucked in from behind the head light is no to desireable.
If you do heed this advice I expect pics, of the Hott shorty riding shotty. lol

Holy crap...I always thought Costa Rica was an island. I was wondering how the deuce you were going to drive there...then I looked at a map and felt like a dunce
Anyways...I have the OME 901's (the HD's). I love them, and highly recommend them. I'd say to get them and the BJ spacers, and either relax your torsion bars to even it out (the front will be higher with the BJ spacers and rear coils), or get like 1" spacers in the back in addition. That should be plenty of lift for 33's...

I'd be totally fine with the slight lack of power, if only it got decent gas mileage.
