Just got my BJ spacers from 4crawler installed (thanks Roger for the quick service!). I figured I'd just post a few pics for the rare few people doing searches to figure out what these will look like:

Upgrade #1: AAL - unfortunately, no pics

Upgrade #2: OME 2" rear springs + tbar crank on 31" street tires

Mike you wouldn't have a picture of your rear bumper would you? Also would you have any pictures of how it's mounted, and maybe some stat's (distance of lowest part of bumper from the ground, length and so on) Any info would be great....

sure, here's some pics - it was rainy today, so i couldn't get great pics. i think it's a toyota bumper, the previous owner got it at a toyota-only junkyard to replace the aluminum one that was destroyed in an accident.

it's 19" from the ground to the lowest point (the hitch). i forgot to measure the length, and it's cold and rainy so i don't want to go out again, but you can see from the pics that it's as wide as the truck. if the pics don't give you a good idea of the dimensions, let me know and when the weather gets nicer, i'll go take better measurements for you.





it's just bolted to the frame directly. i've jacked the whole back of the truck up with the bumper, so it's on there pretty well.

yeah, the OME springs are really nice. the ride is much nicer than when i had the procomp AAL installed. they were a bit expensive, i don't remember how much they were, but they were the only springs in the 2" range i could get and they're built really well. i didn't want to go up 4" or more like all the other kits out there.

 

I figured I'd just keep updating this thread with my upgrades. I finally got around to buying new tires today. I'm now running 32" MTRs.

 

is that the biggest tire you could fit with that setup? I am looking into a similar setup but would like to go with 33x12.50's you think they would fit?

 

Did you crank the tbars on top of the spacer lift? and about how much total lift did you gain in the front? My spacers should be here thursday and I also have a 3" tuff country AAL on the way. Just tryin to figure out if it will look ok with the setup.

 

jay33: Just by looking at it, I'd say that 33's would fit. I think there's enough space to fit 33's under there. However, everyone I talked to said that 33's won't fit without minor fender trimming. I didn't do 33's because I'm not in the mood to regear yet, and because of a flat tire I needed to order tires quickly and I didn't get a chance to test fit any 33's.

chrishf12: I think I'm up about 2.5" from stock (about 3.5" from the saggy spring that I replaced). I never got around to measuring the before fender height, so I don't know for sure. I only had to crank the tbars very slightly to keep everything level. You should be fine getting the front level with the 3" lift in the back.

 

did you notice much of a difference in performance with going up to the 32's?

 

did you do the diff drop with the spacers? or did you leave it stock?
EDIT I love your runner I wish i could have somethin like that to fix up and have to wheel all the time!

 

jay33: I've only driven them for about 5 miles so far, and it's been in town so I haven't had a chance to notice the power difference. However, I the truck originally came with 28's and 4.10's. I've always had 31's on there, so I was already running it with the wrong gears (with 31's I should have been running 4.56's), and the difference between 31 and 32 can't be that much. Maybe someday I'll get around to putting 4.88's in there and all will be well.

chrishf12: I ordered the diff drop kit about 6 months ago and it's still sitting in my garage. I haven't had a chance to install it yet. The CV angles look steep enough that I don't feel comfortable pushing it too hard in 4wd for fear of breaking things. If you're going up 3", I'd strongly suggest getting it.

 

Yea I made a custom 1.25" swaybar and 1.5" diff drop. Thanks for the help!

 

wut kinda rim is that ,is it the black daytona rims? and what size are they?
is theyre any backspacing to those wheels? thx alot in advance

I used to run the same lift as he had, with 33x12.50 BFG all terrains.

Flygtenstein used to run 33x12.50 MT/R's with a 1" body lift and the same set up (though i'm pretty sure that the BL was because of his motor swap and not becasue of the tires)

I experienced some rubbing at full stuff, but then pounded my pinchwelds flat and no rubbing at all.

Now i have 33x9.50's, with zero lift, and still no rubbing.

 

we ran my 33/12.5 on my buddys runner and it only rubbed his stupid step rails. Hes got brand new 33/9.5's now hes going to be selling on wheels. Hes make a snow or half a snow run and drove about 30 miles. hes going bigger and more lft then he just did so if anyone local wants em im sure hed sell em for a fair price.
