beefing up ifs

IF yer an enginner - check out "deDion" axles...
Its an IFS "solid axle"....
Ive yet to see one made for the front tho... not impossible to do - just not really done (its a ton of work and IMHO not really much gain - but it would be neato engineering)
Then again - if you tie the front wheels together - how are you going to deal with the change in track width that the current IFS has?

Oh c'mon, Ike... You know this topic will NEVER be dead. There are too many people out there expecting too much from IFS. For me, I am prone to listen to those who have wheeled the daylights out of their trucks, and have learned by experience what works where and what doesn't. But hey, that's just me.
That and I don't have lots of money to fix lots of broken parts. That's why I stay out of the gnarly stuff.

yeah i know what de dion is.
what do you mean by this?
if youre talking about track width change due to suspension movement, the dedion accounts for this by having a slip tube in the center of it.

adrian, What do you mean.... your a good driver, especially when you listen to one spotter telling you to go right and the other telling you to go left? why were you trying to accomodate both at the same time.....
I can still make it through stuff like this

When I get to the point where my IFS doesn't cut it any longer, I will simply build a buggy and be done with it....
