the anxiety is building! yippeee

as a reward to myself for getting snipped, I just found an instock aussie for the rear of my rig! supposed to be shipped today from machinewave. Man these things are hard to get ahold of, I've been beating these guys up for a couple of months.

why did I choose aussie? i don't want to drop the cash on an ARB or Detroit and I do not like Locrites as I have broken one in a ford axle and my dad has broken one in a front D44 on his early bronco. (the locker body broke where the shear (<= ha) pins went into the body).

I can find little to no complaints about this locker and it has been used and abused (and researched) on many websites.

I can't wait, it will be the last upgrade for some time!

I wish Aussie made lockers for the Year of a 2nd Gen 4Runner 4Cylinder.

They only make them for the Front. Which is a waste of cash on a vechile that will get SASed sooner or later.

if you have an 8" 30 spline 4cyl rear it should fit, they are all the same,
i think?

in fact the rear diff in my rig is from a 90's model pick up with a 4cyl

Yeah, should work, AFAIK

They only list 84-89 on thier site for the rear, but under pickup they list up to 95. It's the same axle. Right? Everything else is swappable, ring and pinion, other lockers.....

Here is a note from thier site:

NOTE - The engineering team at Torq-Masters Technology has made every effort to ensure that the model listing is accurate. The vehicle manufacturer may have mixed diff models during model year changeovers, options may result in different diffs being used and on-hand inventory may result in a different diff being in your vehicle than listed here. It is the customers’ responsibility to confirm the diff in their vehicle and if you need assistance or are in doubt contact us by filling in our engineer contact form.

Wow Mike, thats a great trade. No kids and new parts for your truck, the best of both worlds. Enjoy your new locker.

that would be no More kids (already have 2) but my kids (2 & 4 years old) love "daddy's truck" more than anything else. Nothing like a sunday drive to put them to sleep with

thanks!
Mike

When your wrestling the differential out of your rig,

Be careful so you don't rip out your newly sewn stitches.

Isn't that the coolest? Just in the last few months, my truck has become my 2 1/2 year old's favorite vehicle. In fact, when he knows we're leaving to go somewhere, he just runs out and stands by the back door of the truck... It kinda makes a papa proud, you know?

Good luck on the install!
