Aal???

yes I did a search on this, I was wondering how hard is it to pull apart the leaf pack and put in the AAL. It is on an 89 pickup, which has minimum frame rust, I know I will need new ubolts other than that anything else I will need?
I am going to put BJ spacers up front and already have a 2" extended shackle in the rear, what amount of lift would you go with to level out the truck? The leafs in the rear with the shackles have settled over time so the truck is pretty much leveled out now. I was thinking 3" figuring they would settle some, with a 1.5" BJ spacer up front, any suggestions?
Thanks
Blaine

get a 1.5" or 2" AAL, rancho has a real good one. Its very easy you just need some vice grips to hold the centre pin, just pull the wheels drop the axle then pull out the pin, stick in the AAL and put in the new pin, cut off the extra length, repeat on other side, raise axle bolt springs back to axle and put wheels on. While your at it put on a u bolt flip kit and when you put in your bj spacers dont crank the t bars leave em as is or loosen em a bit.

Usually not too hard to install, as noted above, assuming the stock parts come apart OK. The Rancho Soft-Ride AAL kit is good (http://www.gorancho.com/), it has 2 pair of leaves that you can mix-n-match to get the ride height and uality you want. I have a writeup on an AAL install (not a Toyota but similar):
