4th Gen 4Runner SE Liftkit

I wanted to get a little feed back from those of you that have installed a lift on a 4th Gen 4Runner Sport with X-REAS. I will be getting the Revtek kit next week and just wanted to find out if anyone is having any issues with thiers before I install it. I am going to team up the lift with a set of BFG MT 285/70/17. Anyone have issues with this size of tire rubbing? Thanks.

If you do a search, I think you'll find that those running Revteks with their XREAS are pretty happy with them. I don't think you'll run into any problems with the lift.

Regarding the 285/70-17s, I suspect you will need to do a bit of trimming to keep them from rubbing with the Revtek lift. Of course, the amount of trimming will depend upon how much you plan on wheeling it.

Regardless, be sure to post some pix when you get it done !

that kit should be fine. might want to look into cornfed suspension too. the only reason is the revtek kit comes w/ a rear shock that you dont need. (why waste $ on stuff you don't need.) all you really need are the spacers so give cornfed a call. http://www.burtmanindustries.com/ sells the cornfed so check them out on prices

Rubbing.... yup LOTS w/ 285's. expect to trim trim trim..

good luck

Thanks for the feed back!!!

Thank for all the feed back. I have heard some about some metal on metal rubbing issues with the aluminum spacer kits. Any ideas about this? Thanks again for you feedback and I promise there will be pictures to come.

I run this set up with a Daystar spacer kit and had to get new wheels to avoid "trimming" my upper A-arms... these tires will rub on the upper A-arms with the stock wheels. You will also have to trim in front and behind the front tires, remove the front mudflaps, and remove 1 screw from the rear mud-flap... After this you will have minor rubbing while doing moderate off-roading.

Interesting. Even with my 35s I did not have to do anything in the rear to make them fit - the mud flaps didn't get in the way at all.
