35s on ifs...i know its been asked.

What is exactly the problem with 35s on IFS? I would lik eto run 35s, but i hear it hurts the IFS. What exactly does it do, and is there a way to run 35s on IFS but still being reliable?

I ran 35s for a few months and like I stated in another post, they felt so heavy that I was afraid if I took it off-road it'd destroy all sorts of things in the front.

well, with my V8, the tires kept moving and everything. but still, it was an uncomfortable feeling, even going over bumps, they just felt sooooooo heavy.

I run 35's on an 88 4Runner and have never had problems with it on or offroad. It is a little harder to stop and i go through front brake pads twice as fast but other than that it is fine.

I wheel my rig hard and usually break a CV axle on the harder trails. Recently I busted something in my diff and won't know til I tear it down. 35's and IFS is the max if you wheel it offroad, but expect to break every once in a while.

Im in SOUTHJERSEY. We mostly wheel 1-2 foot deep mud and just rollin over downed trees. Also A LOT of stream/creek crossings. The 35s will help me in that aspect. Right now im looking at the 34x10.5x15 LTBs. Cheap, good offroad and ok onroad, so ive heard. Its not deffinate, bvut they are in mind. I dont have a locker in the front. Right now its all stock. Im going to lift it and regear, tan do tires. In the future i will do lockers.
