I did mine a bit different , but the outcome was similar. I actually cut out a small portion and then hammer formed the rest to fit. Afterwards I welded the seam shut. the very lower portion was cut out and a plate welded in......

I ran 35s for a few months and we had to grind off some of the frame near the body mounts, and reshape the fender area of the front bumpers. Didn't have to do anything in the rear.
