22r firing problem

i have 1981 toyota, put a new distributer, coil and igniter in it. It runs fine till it heats up to 180 degrees, the tach starts jumpin around and it cuts off and wont fire anymore. Wait and let it cool down it will start back up and run again till 180 degrees and do it over again. Do any of yall have an idea whats goin on?

i had that same problem once. but i had my coil/igniter ran directly to the battery, i used a ballast resistor to help fix the problem. is your ignition hooked up all factory?

were those parts new new, or just new to you?

a 22re dizzy wont work properly. you need the 22r(carbed version) the one with the vacuum advance canister on the side of it.
