T100 speaker question

I have a question regarding the rear speakers.....whats the easiest way to access the speakers in the back, they don't appear to be easily accessible....im not getting any sound from them so I want to check the wiring.

Make an easier way...

I think that when I eventually get to replacing the rear speakers (it is one of those projects on the shelf) I will make them easier to access.

As much as I hate the idea of messing with the factory look, I was thinking I would cut out some holes and place aftermarket speaker grills over those holes... allowing easier access to speakers at the same time.

However, as jroc pointed to the thread on 4x4wire, the speaker box idea is a good one. That idea may very well be what I switch too... that would save the factor appearance.

Lightbulb My Solution

I encountered the same problem when trying to install aftermarket speakers in my X-Cab. I finally got the rear pannel remove (remove the seablet cover and a couple of screws and it snaps right off, well not all the way but enough to work with), and found that if your T100 didn't come with the rear speakers from the factory, then tehre are no mounts for them behind the pannel. To solve this, I bought a 2'x1' plexi glass and made 2 1'x1' sheets out of it. I then cut out the speaker holes and mounted then in the plexi glass. I used a dremmel to cut out the factory molded grills (use a low speed or you'll melt the plastic and it makes a mess). I then proceeded to slide the new "mounts" behind the pannel and bolt them to the pannel. I covered my new creation with a set of 8" generic speaker grilles from Circut City. It works great, the only other thing I did was use a little silicone sealant around the plexiglass to cut down on the vibration noise at high volumes.
