Well it was stuck; until I took off shift lever and pried the half-moon shaped shifter bottom back into neutral (Toyota service tech told me to do it - and while I had it off inspect to see if any of the plastic holders, etc were broke and jamming the linkage. Nothing broken, so where do I go now.

At first I thought it was clutch related, but everyone I talked too indicated if it was clutch they usually stick in neutral, not in gear. Others thought it was a synchromesh problem, but local Toyota dealer "technician" said synchro isn't used in 5th gear or in reverse (3.4 liter engine).

So, now that I've found no broken plastic parts jamming up the works, anybody got any ideas on where I should look next.
