Sequioa Tire Recommendations?

I've searched Yotatech and a few other online Forums for tire suggestions, but haven't had much luck. I need to replace my Factory Dunlops (265/65/17's) and would like to know if anyone has recommendations?

Side note, I have BFG AT's on my 4-Runner, but they are a bit loud and don't offer the best wet weather traction. The Sequoia is used mostly on the highway or around town and I'd like to maintain the current ride.

Anyone? I'm considering the Nitto Terra Grappler, the Yokohama Geolandar or one of the Michelin tires. If anyone has All-Terrain tires on their Sequoia, I'd like to hear your feedback. Thanks!

Hmm..well the only tire I have experience with is the Nitto and it was a good tire. I was able to squeeze 55k out of my set, but when it came to replacing them I went with the BFG's this time.
The Nitto's are a tough tire, wore well, were quite (till the end) and had good traction in the dirt. I'd recommend them.

Question

I decided to go with the Nitto's and am having them put on later this week. Before doing so, I have a question regarding the TPMS. Does anyone know if the system (including Dash Indicator light) will work properly with a slightly larger tire 275/70/17's and different psi? From what I've read the Nitto's recommended psi is lower than what my Dulops came with from the factory.

According to Nitto's site, the P265/70/R17's Max Load (2535 lbs.) with Max Pressure (35 psi). Does that sound doable for a Sequoia?

I read on another forum that you can reset TPMS to match the new recommended psi. Can anyone confirm?

I have Michelin LTX M/S on my Tundra and my criteria were as follows and in no particular order;

Long lasting
quiet
good mpg/less rolling resistance
good in rain
good in snow

Of all the reviews I had read, this tire is almost always #1. When I see trucks with them on, and they did not come stock, I ask why the owner went with them and they all know how good they are. A bit more expensive but worth it.

My 2005's manual shows a reset button under the dash (page 203). Here, quoted verbatim, are the instructions on initializing the system:
  1. Park the vehicle at a safe place and apply the parking brake. Stop the engine.
  2. Adjust the pressure of all the installed tires to the specified level. (See "Tires" on page 458 in Section 8.)
  3. Turn the ignition key to "ON".
  4. Push and hold the reset switch until the low tire pressure warning light blinks three times.
The manual goes on to state that initialization will not work if the reset button is pushed while the vehicle is moving.

Hope this helps!

I went with the Nitto TG's and the TPMS system is working fine. They filled in the wheel well nicely and they've been a big improvement over the factory Dunlops.
