I force trouble

I hope Im posting in the right place here. Problem is this.... went wheeling the other day with 07 tundra. Got in a bad place and had to get rough with the truck. All of a sudden the engine started knocking. Not just a little knock, its a loud knock as if a rod will at any time come through the oil pan. So I'm looking for advice, experience, write ups etc for pulling the motor. Would like to have some knowledge before I start this one. A long block cost 21k and a short block cost 7k so I'm just planning on fixing what I have.

Thanks in advance

FIrst off, many thanks to all for all the help. Got the motor torn down and somehow this thing spit out a rod bearing. So I guess its going to be a crank for 1600, and bearings for 20 each, and a gasket set and hope for the best.

MY whole truck probably costs less than what he is about to spend on a rebuild! okay well maybe not but he could buy 2 beaters for what he is about to spend. dont wheel a tow rig!

update... luckily i found a crank. there was only 1 in the united states and im glad i got it because all the stuff over seas is making it extra hard on part aquisition. so next thing is is each rod and main bearing are different. the bearings are designed for the individual rod. you have to get the stamp off of your rod and find the matching bearing. there is no such thing as an oversize bearing so the new crank is the only option. after the 1700 for the crank, the 50 each for the bearings just adds to the pain. not to mention the gasket set is almost 1k. started on the assembly over the weekend. will update again when available. also i will look and get the exact mileage off the thing so everybody can put their heads together. and as stated above nobody in at least 100 toyota dealers i called had ever been inside the 5.7. so must just be my bad luck lol.
