a few T100 questions
Hello,
This is my first post.
I bought a '98 T100 SR5 ext cab 2wd truck and has ~70K on it now. We live in the santa cruz mountains in Cali.
I was hoping you could help me w/ a few things.
1) Oil:
I need to do an oil change was thinking about switching to syn oil at 70K mark, do you think switching to syn at 70K is a bad idea since the it can seap through the seals and such? and what type of syn oil would you use?
2) Shocks:
The roads around us are pretty rough, a lot of twisty and bumpy roads.
The shocks on the truck are toast, I don't drive off road unless I need to get somewhere. I don't want to spend too much money for trick stuff, but need some long lasting shocks. Good source for the shocks would nice too.
3) programming the alarm remote:
does anyone know how to program a remote w/ a 98 t100? It is the standard two button remote w/ FCCID:BAB237131-022 canada 2024 101526
Thanks for your help!!!

i have a 98 t myself with 130k miles on it. no leaks. i started using the valvoline high mileage, and love it. my truck feels new, no leaks, and rund great.
i use bilstein shocks, and they seem a little stiff, but ok. i would say go cheap as well. another thing you can do is pick up some sway-a-way torsions, and give the front a lil help.
other things to look into is an aftermarket exhaust and intake. basically a free-er flowing muffler and a cotton-mesh filter like k&n will help tons. thats basically all there is for the 2wd t. its a great truck....enjoy
