Donahoe Racing/Icon Coilovers

I recently acquired a pair of Donahoe front coil over srtuts from a 2001 tundra from where I work. One has a broken spring and they both appear to be leaking. I emailed Donahoe who is now Icon, they told me it would be around $160. to get the spring replaced and to get them both resealed.

Here is where the question lies, has anyone used these in a Sequoia? I know they will fit and work, just curious about the ride quality? The truck I took them out of had the tubular upper control arms with oversized ball joints. This setup was noisy, but I think the noise was from the control arms. The oversized ball joints were exposed to the elements, they had no dust covers on them and they would squeak like crazy.

I was thinking about putting in just the struts to level out the vehicle. I am not building a super serious off-road machine, I just want to gain a little grond clearance. This is after all the family truckster we're taling about.

Any input?

As long as they're not the extended coilovers you can use them with the stock a-arms. Icon should be able to tell you if they are the extended version and should be able to convert them to the "normal" version for your needs.

As for the ride: they are the bomb! Mine (until they started leaking, they are currently on their way for a rebuild) rode great on and off road. Smoother than the stock bilsteins ever were. Easy to change your ride height (although a little time consuming) on the truck.

If you got them cheap like me, send them in for a rebuild and then try them out, I think you'll like them.....
