Bought a '98 Land Cruiser last night. Want to get some extra keys made. Can't tell if this is a transponder key, that I need to get programmed, or just a hardware store off-the-rack key. (For my 4Runner I ordered a transponder key blank off eBay, had it cut locally, then programmed it in the car using instructions I found in these forums. Worked great.)

 

Call your dealer with the VIN.

With no pics, and zero info about your cruiser, its kinda hard to tell

 

I guess the question is: Do all '98 Cruisers use a transponder key?

 

Send me the VIN and I will look it up. Some come with transponder keys some do not.
