2008 Land Cruiser Brochure (Pics)

Not the biggest, but the best brochure Toyota has ever produced and should be in your dealership by now.

Beautifully photographed by world renowned Randy Olsen on location at extreme locations in Northern Territory, Australia, and Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada.

You can see the photo shoot and main characters in the brochure on Speed TV Test Drive 2008 Land Cruiser segment this weekend with Tommy Kendall and Ivan Stewart. I recognized the lake in the Whitehorse segment from pics member Scofco posted her some time ago.

The brochure goes far beyond the expected. Of 67 pages, only the last few say anything about features and content. The rest is a mesmerizing travelogue and expedition primer.

It shows what Toyota thinks of the Land Cruiser, the iconic vehicle that put them on the map and pulled them through their difficult startup in the North American market. Although Toyota is forecasting sales of only 8K/year, about half of the last gen at it's peak, Land Cruiser will always be with us in some form. For the purists, we now have the FJ Cruiser.

I have every Land Cruiser brochure ever made, but think this one will become the first considered collectible.

Heh, way beyond my budget and prolly most others. They project a median income of $250K for the typical buyer. I think they start around $64K, or $70K+ "nicely equipped". Come to think of it, that's more than my first house cost.

There seem to be a lot of people out there who spend close to an annual income on a vehicle. They don't even look at the price, just at how much it is per month.

I want to see these Whitehorse photos!
Dealer here doesn't have the brochure, oddly enough.

A digicam photo of the brochure would suffice. My curiosity hardly warrants the entire brochure mailed to me, though I do appreciate the offer.

Well, there are over two dozen pics of the Whitehorse area alone, some smaller that won't photo-reproduce well and my scanner is broken, sorry.

I don't really like what they did with the new look, especially the rear. I think the whole thing looks like an oversized Highlander now. If I had the money, I'd just get a 2007... brochure is nice though - lots of great videos on youtube about the 2008 version.

For those on the West Coast, not sure about the East or anywhere else, Speed Channel is doing a test drive of the 08 LC in Australia right now.

they have several down here in Belize with the 4.5L Twin Turbo Diesel! even a few 08 Tundra's and 08 FJC's! and they say that Belize is a poor country! not very many are! maybe 45% of the country is truly "poor".

Wow, what would a TTD L/C and an FJC go for there?

Well, you can only import the FJC from the usa. but the twin turbo LC goes for around $140,000bz or around $80,000us, give or take.
