Just wanted to share this story about a modified LC 80. It was done in Australia by Icelandic design and is street legal in Australia!

There was a special on TV a few years ago about a company that took LC modidifed them and did expeditions all over the Antarctic, frozen tundra, etc. It is amazing to see how they use the front bumpers to get them over HUGE cracks and creavaces.(sp) ...absoulutely HUGE trucks

I mean I could just drive over the Boston traffic in that thing.

Imagine reactions of fellow motorists with that thing approaching in the rearview mirror:

Yeah, this one is comparable to the ones they used in Antartica...
... as well as on ice-caps here.

The long bars in front of the trucks were used to prevent them falling into the cracks

Thrandur you have a great site, one of my favorites.

I've posted links to it on other sites I visit and shared pictures of the amazing vehicles you all use. Driving across parts of Iceland would be a dream 4X4 trip!

I was just in Iceland earlier this month and I saw tons of Arctic Trucks creations. There's a dealership right across from the base down in Keflavik, so I got to see some killer rigs. Even the Fire Rescue hummer (H1) was on Dick Cepek 44's... it was killer. I'll have some pics up soon if I get the time.

Thrandur....

strangely enough, I think I saw your truck when I took a few trips to Reykjavik. If not, I saw one very similar. The only reason I think it was yours is cause I really took a good look at it and remember some things that are very similar if it was not your truck I saw. Anyhow, have fun! I can't wait to go back...

Cool

You most probably did see my truck, mikeleblanc. There just arent that many gray 38" F-150 87's left :xmas10:
I know it is getting a BIT old and rusty but the hardware is still good.

Thanks, Bagger, for sharing the link. I know the site is constantly getting more traffic thanks to guys like you spreading the word.
