Help. Rear lift question

This is on my 99 4runner rear.

I am running LC Coils in the rear and now I have these links pretty tight. Does the land cruisers have a similar set up? If it does, I was opting to see if they would work on my 4runner due to the extra height I achieved with the LC Coils/shock combo. I need something longer.

TIA !

The 80 series uses a link that bolts directly to the frame, not a pin/bushing set-up like the runners. Looks like you either have a bent bar, or need longer rear links.

Which LC coils are you running? The 7 or 9 wraps?

i dont have LC springs, but mine look like that also.... easiest way is to make longer links....

get an angle bracket made... or make
out of something like a 1.5 inch piece 1x1 or 1.5x1.5 .25 thick angle iron
then weld little gussets on it for support (optional I think but recommended)
then drill a 1/2" ish or so hole in both faces of angle iron
then buy:
-2 long grade 8 3/8" bolts and 6 nylok nuts for the new links
-2 1inch long? grade 8 1/2" dia bolts, 2 washers, and 2 nylok nuts to bolt bracket to where balljoint used to be
-also new bushings, to replace old top ones, AND for bottom now

----OR---

skip the bracket and bushings on bottom and buy heims for that end, and bolt them through hole

the bracket idea is what came with my addco swaybar, but I allready had longer, upgraded to 1/2" dia, quick-discos with heims

I will have to count my wraps in my LC Coils..I forget how many. It got me about 4 inches of lift though.

The links are not bent...not yet anyways, they are just putting alot of stress on the bushings and need to be longer.

Thanks for the pics

There are alot of fellas running with LC Coils.....anyone else change the rear set up with longer links, etc? I will try and snap a few better pics tomorrow.

I was just wondering because MY LC's are just sitting out there waiting for me to put them on. Now I wonder if I'm going to have the same problem. Has anybody else had this problem with the LC coils causing this? Also, a bit OT has anyone used these Daystar bumpstops that go directly on the shock rod? Please, warn me now. Thanks!
