Nice ride, I bought my 73 for 3,000, and it wasn't in nearly as good shape.

how do i tell for sure that it's a 78? i found a 77 owners manual in the glove box today and now i'm not so sure. apparently there is supposed to be a riveted plate near the door hinge on the drivers side saying when the vehicle was made, but mine is not there. i do have the vin tag under the hood near the passenger side lower corner of the windshield. can i tell from that?

Sizzle take the serial number off of the drivers side of the block and call a Toyota parts dealer.
