That battery goes for $100
I am soooooooooooo confused on batteries, and my dealer does not know either.
I talked with Axial, and I also have an email into them waiting to hear back.
I think this will work.

4000mAh 2S 7.4V 20C LiPo Hard Case Stick Pack

Thunder AC6 Smart LiPo Balance Charger/Discharger w/ AC Adapter for 1-6 Lipo/ 1-15 Nimh + USB to PC Software

The phone tech said a lot swap out to Dean's connectors, and the battery comes with them.
I wonder if you have to cut the plug on the Wraith, or if there is a Dean's adapter that goes over the motors plug, then you just put the other Dean's adapter on that battery?

I can not use my Losi batteries, to small.
The Wraith also comes stock with a Tamari plug.

Oh yeah, I should have the Wraith Friday or Monday since he has to order it.

PS, this hobby can get expensive.
Found this on Amazon while looking at batteries.

That was quick, like ten minutes.
They just got back to me.
I wrote back though to see if the ones from Amazon will work too since I can have them delivered next day or two day shipping for free since I am a Prime member with Amazon.

PS, he got back to me, looks like I will order his links.
May not have them in time to play with the rig this weekend though.
would try to find a battery with a higher discharge rating over the 20C you suggested 30-40C min.
Higher C rating allows the battery to discharge faster providing more power.

Fink when you get one, we're going wheeling the next time I come to Casselberry there's a spot in Sandford we meet at when I'm in town. But there's a spot here in Gainsville, a LOT closer to me, that if you're willing to make the drive is 100 x's better IMO

Travis, what kind of battery are you running?
I placed my order for two of the ones Axial recommended, and I also got the charger.
Those Dean battery ends he linked me to I bought them too, but after checking out and them getting my $$$, up pops a message they are out of stock.
They now list them as back ordered on the site.

Hopefully my local hobby shop can rig up these batteries I ordered to work with the Wraith.

Gosh, even Marlin Crawler is getting into this.

Another video with a GoPro camera mounted on board of a Wraith.
I will have to try mounting my GoPro to the Wraith.

Gosh there are a ton of cool vids on YouTube.
I like how this thing jumps.

Hey Corey.
That battery you listed will run you pretty much all day. Just make sure it fits in the rig.

On the charger, i didnt look, but does it come with a 12v adapter so you can use your car battery to charge the RC battery?

Not sure if that charger has a 12v option or not, but remember I have that Goal Zero solar stuff, and it has a 110v inverter.
The FJ has 110V inverter too, but with the Goal Zero stuff no need to start the rig.

Not sure how long a battery will last.
On that Losing Baja Racer I have, I am lucky to get ten minutes, but I think they are 800 and not 5000 like these I have on order.

After you buy good charger and LiPo battery you'll be around 500 easily.

I was recommended to use deans plugs. You will need to install/solder in deans plugs in the vehicle if you get battery with them - or whichever plug type you want. They're more user friendly design than some of the other connectors out there.

I use Dynamite LiPo 2s/5000mAh batteries in my honcho and they last well over 1hr of continuous crawling/trailing/bashing. Not sure on a Wraith but I'd think you'll get a little less runtime due to a more "basher friendly" RC that you'll most likely be doing lots of full throttle driving

I am running Traxxas 3 series 7 cell 8.4v NiMH. They pack a pretty good punch with the stock 27 turn brushed motor, and with the 3300mAh rating they'll run almost an hour non-stop. But if I stay hard on the throttle it tends to kill them a little quicker With the 4 amp charger for them able to fully charge them in 45 minutes off a car battery, I can literally go non-stop all day

and I run Deans on all of mine

Thanks for the info Pottery, and Travis.

Ahhhhh, crap
I knew I should have checked Amazon for those Dean connectors.
The other place I bought them from I mentioned above that they are on back order, but they billed me already.
Amazon has them for a Prime offering, which means I can have them tomorrow or Thursday with free shipping.
I am going to order them, and see if I can cancel the other one.
http://www.amazon.com/Ultra-Plug-Mal...5&sr=8-1-spell

OK, so the female end goes on the batteries, so I will have to order one male/female set to get me going, then order an extra 4 pack of the female ones to do up extra batteries.
Placing my order now...

Ahhh, more crap
I am really a newb to all of this RC stuff.
Looks like the two batteries I bought have no wires?
http://www.hobbypartz.com/98p-40c-50...-hardcase.html
Capacity: 5000mAh
Voltage: 7.4V
Size: 138 * 46.5 * 25mm (L * W * H)
Weight: 288g
Discharge: 40C Continuous, 80C Burst
Charge rate: 5C charging acceptable
Application :Gens ace rechargeable 2S car lipo battery with high capacity of 5000mAh & high burst power of 40C for 1/8 & 1/10 RC car model such as Traxxas Slash, Emaxx,Bandit, Rustler version, HPI Strada XB 1/10 RTR Electric Buggy, Kyosho GP 4WD RACING TRUCK etc. Team Associated SC8, etc. Fast charging by 5C is workable. Roar Legal.

Note: NO bullet connectors included. Must use high current 4.0mm bullet connector with this battery.
So you have to buy heavy duty wire and insert it into the holes in the battery, then solder on Dean's plugs?

I hope the shop where I bought the Wraith from can get me up and running for the weekend.
Next time I buy batteries they will come with connectors already on them.
Those from Amazon I posted a few days ago the Axial tech talked me out of buying come with Dean's already on them.

There is a video at the site where I bought my two batteries from that is confusing.
The reviewer said some batteries come with Dean's plugs, some have none at all.

Gosh, I think I may need to start my own thread here soon, maybe I will copy my posts to a new one later.

Anyways, I am screwed.
Got a hold of tech support for Hobby Partz, and the batteries I bought have no wires.
I am not not into this hobby to sit around and roll my own batteries by adding wires to them and soldering them up, so I may have two brand new batteries for sale next week.

In the mean time I might buy two of these at double the price I pad for the others.
5000mAh 2S 7.4V 30C LiPo, Hard Case

The only bad thing is it is a 30C battery, not the 40C one Axial said to get.
I believe this means the battery will not last as long before it needs a charge.

Good thing is the wires are plug and play,.
Looks like you just insert them in with no soldering needed.
Stick three banana ends into the hardcase battery, and then pop on some plastic connectors to match the plug on your motor.

I knew this was going to be an expensive hobby

EDIT:
Bought two of the Amazon batteries, as my local shop does not carry Lipos with a 30 or 40C rating, only 20C which would discharge to fast.
Not 100% sure what end is on the motor for the Wraith.

EDIT:
Good link for Wraiths:

if I'm not mistaken, those plugs that go into the holes on those lipo packs are just called "bullet connectors". I have no experience with them though, as I've never used them (yet anyways, since I haven't gone to lipo)

but honestly, ANY good hobby shop should carry Dean's plugs. people use them in EVERYTHING from crawlers, to drifters, planes, hell some people use them on their auto airsoft guns!

My Dean's connectors and two batteries arrived yesterday, very nice.
You just take the bullet connectors and insert them into the hardcase lipo battery.

If the Wraith does indeed come with a Tamaryi connector, the new batts have that plug, as they come with four interchangeable plugs.
I will still switch out the rig to a Dean's though.

I do like the function of the Dean's plugs though.

I hope the Wraith comes in today, if not, I will have to wait until Monday for it to arrive.

Just found a source for those cables that came with my two Venom batteries that came yesterday.
http://www.rchobbyexplosion.com/Veno..._p/ven1692.htm

I will buy a few of these to go with the batteries that are showing up today that come with no wires.
The batteries that are coming today are a killer deal at $30 each, and buying a cable set for each is still cheaper than the ones that came from Amazon yesterday that have the wires with them.

Sad to say my rig did not come in Friday
I got the tacking number from the shop, and it will be in on Monday.

Learned a few things on using that new charger.
I hooked up the small balancing plug on the battery to an adapter that hooks to the charger, and when I pushed the start button it scanned the battery and knew what it was, but I got a "Connection Break" error.

Found some info in the PDF file (came on a mini CD) but it was vague, so I it and found out why on YouTube.
You must also connect the main powerwires to the charger, and this is the same unit I have.
This video will explain how to do it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRyy8if0P_o

I charged up two of my four batteries, and before charging they showed around 7.4v the norm, bit I wanted to balance charge them since they each have two cells inside of the hardcase.

Took about 90 minutes each battery, and the readout said they were at 8.4v, and the charging automatically shuts off after giving you a series of beeps that it is done.
Very cool charger, and I recommend it.
It is for both Lipo and NH batteries.

I tested both batteries with a volt meter afterwards, and they were spot on what the charger had reported.

Anyways, the shop will solder on a Dean's plug on the rig side if someone is available to help me on Monday, if not, I will just use the Tamiya adapter for awhile that is one of the four plugs that comes with the battery cables.

Now I am on the hunt for a case to carry the rig, batteries, charger, ect.
This one does not look to bad.

aw that sucks...

my parts came in today which is AWESOME because I'm taking it out wheeling tomorrow with a few other guys!

got some new wheels and tires

a trans and motor pulled straight out of a Wraith (direct bolt-on!)

and a new radio system

the thing should perform AMAZINGLY tomorrow, provided I don't break something in the driveline with the extra grip and power from the motor, lol

pics to come of course

Very nice.
That first pic almost looks like a real rig with spare tires laying around.

Get some videos of your rig in action too if you can.

Is that a better radio system than the stock one?

EDIT:
Scoop this, this guy did some custom stuff to his Wraith.

oh yeah for sure, there's going to be a group of us just scalers cruising around, and we're going to be shooting video and putting one or two together

the new radio system isn't much "better" per say that the stock Axial one, I just wanted a new transmitter I used someone else's last time we went out, and really liked the way it feels. but it does have quite a few features built into it that the stock system doesn't

Can you just get the transmitter and bind it with the stock ECS, or do you have to change it all over?

Gosh, I did it again.
Been watching a ton of YouTube vids and lost track of time.
No time to cook, Round Table Pizza to the rescue

I tell ya man, there are a ton of cool RC videos to watch out there.

And that case I posted above, nice, but I do not want to spend near $100 with shipping for a case.
Gotta be another way to carry all the stuff cheaper.

I plan on taking this to work too and trying it out on some rocks down there.
