I know I'll need nitro and batteries and little odds and ends.....the fuel filler and such...and other then that...that web page is for the R/C truck built and assembled & the radio controller correct?
Yup. That's an RTR (ready to run), glue the tires, fill the fuel and start 'er up. You will have to break in the engine first, but I believe they give you a video for that. If you can afford it, and want the most advanced "monster truck" (they are just oversized buggies in my opinion, trucks have solid axles) get the Revo. Absolutely insane and the suspension/drivetrain looks bombproof.

Looks good man. I just started driving my Savage again for the first time in a few months. I love the nitro smell and sound. It is great. Take your time breaking it in. HPI has decent customer service if you have any problems.

These sites are helpful too:
Savage Central
HPISavageForum.com
Savage Unleashed

One more thing. You might want to go down to your local hobby shop and buy some fuel there. You might want to go ahead and break it in with what you will be able to find locally. That way you don't have to tune it if you have to switch fuels when you run out of what you ordered with your truck. Or not. Just a thought.

I love mine too but not when it's being attacked by other Savage drivers. I was just minding my own business in the "pits" when BAM!..... Could have at least yelled 'four' or something.

got back to Houston yesterday, cranked up the Savage today, haven't run it since last may, and it sparked right up after resharshing the battry's. I just gunned it a couple of times on the stand to heat it up and lube it a little. tomorrow I'm going to run a tank of gas through it and see how it's working. then I'll probably clean it off.

I think when I get back to Greenville next week I'm gonna go buy one of those FJ40 bodies, paint it and slap it on. the F150 body or whatever it is, is pretty tattered from ramming into Joey's Savage and from flipping at WOT.

Joey, count on me being there Sunday!

Will do. Glad to hear that the truck is running fine. Mine ran great after sitting up for about 4 months. Just don't plow into me this time.

I gotta run by one of the hobby shops and get a new air filter. remember I lost the top of the high performance one? I have the stock one on there now which is ok but I don't think it breaths very well.

I remember. Too bad you can't just buy that top part. I will have to let my E-MAXX driving neighbor know that he can come out and get a whopping by some Savages while you are here. He only drives his truck on the road. He has my big road tires right now which I need to get back. I have a busy school week this week but I will have time before Sunday to get my truck tuned a little better. It is running rich right now just to be safe.

You'll love it. If you have any problems with it the folks on those forums that I posted earlier are a big help. Especially the first two.

You guys will love this....

Not only is it a great looking 2nd gen, it's also the super rare 2-door model, and it's got great detail, and it's RC!!

only problem is it's got a rarity in itself, just as the 1:1 might have, it is discontinued and originally was 300-500 depending on what powered it (gas or elec.)

Good luck finding one!! I just wanted to stirr your thoughts and bring up this thread again...plus i couldn't let this thing go...too cool!! I would love just to find the body for one of these....
