My advice is to put a Ford 8.8 in the back since parts are plentiful, cheap, huge aftermarket and they are way stronger than an 8" Toyota rearend. Heck you can probably find a Ford 9" if you are serious.

well i got this rear end out of a 91 2wd v6. i forgot to look at the code to see what gear ratio it has so yesterday i pulled the 3rd and it has 3.42's. also it has an abs sensor if that means anything. the main reason i wanted a v6 third is because i thought the mk3 supra diff only fits in the v6 third. or am i mistaken on that? and i don't want to do a 8.8 because of the extra weight and hassle to get it in there. i already have a custom ds and don't want to pay for another one. plus i feel confident that this will hold up. the 2wd v6 axles are significantly larger all around.
