TastyNapalm's '93 T100 Build-up Thread

Howdy! I have been consulting this forum for everything I do to my truck but now its time to make my presence known!

I have a 1993 Toyota T100 3.0l 4x4 with 5spd transmission, it has 180k miles and runs great, its my daily driver. It has a new Jasper engine that was installed 8k miles ago with a new clutch. Next to no rust.

Modifications include:
Aftermarket rear bumper (not sure what brand or if custom made)
Exterior lights
Fender flares
Custom 4 cu ft ported sub box with 2 12s and 1400 crunch amp with pioneer coaxle door speakers
interior lights
Jensen DVD player
CB radio with bed rail mounted antennae
Custom fit roll bars with 2 offroad lights
Custom spare tire mount
Toolbox
2" lift on rear
Cold air intake
Custom sidepipe exhaust
Mickey Thompson MTZ 31s
Chrome bullet hole rims
Custom paint
Undercoating rust protection
EGR Delete
timing adjustment (14 degrees)

My plans are made around my uses for the truck, I have the truck for a daily driver. I live in ohio, its usually too muddy out here to go off roading, you just sink and i prefer rocks to mud.. so my plans are more for looks than performance, i do however use the truck for work and dirt roads (when theyre actually dirt) I am a college student so Total chaos and whatnot are out of the question!
I was using this build up thread for help and ideas on modifications!
Plans for near future are:
2 or 3 inch body lift (is 3 too much?)
Headers (any brands that sell headers for less than 500?)
33's
offroad bumper with stinger (anyone know where to get these? i can fab a stinger but i cant find ANY bumpers for sale, im not a fan of the brush guards either)
offroad lighting
more horsepower!

Any comments or ideas are welcome! Pics very soon.

Hey man sweet build, I just installed new idler and pitman arms. I picked them up new from ebay as a set for around $40. They fixed the play in my steering and install was pretty easy, just remember to soak the bolts with PB blaster first it will help a ton in removing old rusted nuts.

Well, after about 2 weeks of work, my truck is finally on the road again! (sorta) After breaking a pickle fork and buying another and borrowing a pneumatic pickle fork, i got the pitman arm off! I ended up using a cutting wheel to cut a 1/3 section most of the way off and chisling the rest of it off to (try) damaging the splines, apply heat and whailing on it with the picklefork (the pneumatic one didnt fit) it gave. I deserved a beer for that one.

I also had to change my CV boots, which was expected because they were dry rotted already. Another frustrating adventure but not too terrible.

Most posts on this say to un-bolt the bottom balljoint, i fount it easier if you have a bj spacer to unbolt the top instead and use the factory jack to hold it up, take the spacer out and go up and down to get the axle out, after i figured this out it took me about 30 mins to do the other side.

Now she sits until i get it alligned tomorrow (finally)

Parts availability, underpowered, its all turning out to be a money pit, plus i would have preferred it be an ext cab. But ive gotten so attached to it i cant stop spending every nickel on it!

This weekends work: 4 offroad lights, 2 reverse lights, not yet completed. making guard tomorrow and getting radius rods to fold them back.

I just put a new motor in it well. i didnt have much say. my father is a sneaky bastard. I was working in a different town when my head gasket went out, my dad picked it up and said he would take it to a shop. In a few days he called me up and said he approved of a new jasper engine and clutch to be installed for $6800 "Dont worry, you can pay me back later." he says. total investment is now over $13,000! i just reached 183k miles too... i have a 100k mile warranty for the motor so ill be pushing the body till the warranty is atleast up!

got bucket seats out of a jeep cherokee at take-a-part. They didn't have any 4runners or pickups but they had a 96 2wd T100, what are the odds? The seats bolt right into the outside mount perfectly and line up well for inside bolts, but they are about 3 inches too tall! im going to try shortening them 2 inches buy cutting 2 inches out of the middle of the bolt mounts and welding them back on. not sure how well this will work, but if it doesnt then i will just make new mounts 3 inches shorter. i also took the middle springs out of the bottem of the seat and left the 4 corner springs on (if that makes sense) it lowers me about an inch and is much more comfortable.
