Ever since I was tiny, I have always wanted a fj40 landcruiser. I turned 17. And had 2800 dollors to my name.I finally found a 1969 fj40! In my home town! I live in California so it being pre smog was a huge plus to me. I rode my bike over to this guys house and just fell in love with. I called up my pops and said I need you, the truck, and the flat bed at this address right now! Haha he showed up and there it began. I finally got my dream rig!
The shop it is at is called H&H Fabrication in crescent city California. Two really cool brothers who know how to build stuff! The front axle is a king pin dana 60. rear is a dana 60.
finally found some tires! 39.5 iroks
had to lean the tires up to see the stance... lol
ditched the old hanger and winched and built a new one.
rear axle is in! the springs i used in the rear are out of a stock 3rd gen toyota pickup. i used these because the center pin is way offset so they would stretch the rear end and also keep it low
putting in the drive train. it is a sm420 transmission adapted to a stock toyota t case. the sm420s first gear is 7:1, very low geared. the axles got 4:88s. so my over all ratio will be about 80:1
first 4x4 flex test, at my school. lol principle wasn't to happy. He also wasn't happy when i told him the only reason he was mad was because he was jealous
