Swimmerboy2112's 2002 Tacoma Build Thread

I picked up this 2002 Tacoma over the weekend. Here are the specs;

3.4L 5VZE
113,XXX miles
E-Locker
4x4
Extended Cab
5 Speed
TRD Package
K&N Cold Air Intake
Borla Exhaust

The plans are simple for right now as it is going to be my DD.

Here's some pics!

Truck is currently at the dealership getting a new timing belt & water pump as well as new serpentine belts. They checked the frame for rust and found it to be in good shape

Do the gauges have white backround from factory or is it aftermarket?

Nice, I just got a 98 4runner Limited with the diff lock and 5vze for daily driver duties as soon as the wife gets herself a car. The 3.4 really is a ton more power after driving around a 22re, I took mine out last week and other than the running boards (which wont worry you) with the rear locker, it does awesome off road.

Woohoo! lol

The 91 is already moved on, sold her the other week.

I will be "stuck" with my 4Runner and this Tacoma for a long while. Although I don't think i'll mind

I work A LOT (14hrs a day) to afford my vehicles/girlfiend/mods so you can't envy me too much lol

btw i went to ship the cluster today, it's too big to fit in the large flat rate USPS box...ugh. I will grab a box from work and get it out to you tomorrow!

I've worked a schedule like that before; not for long, but I've been there. I didn't like it. You gotta indulge a bit to stay human on a job like that. Enjoy the new rig! Any mods in store?

No problem about cluster. Again, don't be shy about asking for more $$$ if what I sent won't cover shipping.

Yeah it's nuts, I get off one job and have to head right to the other. I really don't mind though, the money is good.

Thanks for the wishes, i'm sure i'll enjoy her! I'll have to get a future mod list up.

Don't worry about more money for shipping. I'll get it out today.

I had one of those swim I took it a lot of places with just BFG alt tires and the factory locker. When I sold it I got enough to buy my wife's 97 runner and my 86 haha. Have fun.

put some sliders on it. You can use them a step/running boards and they will (hopefully) not get bent or damaged on the trail.

and mods that'll get done: tune-up and black wheels. maybe the bumper if you order the right model

have fun with it, man! i wanna see a side-by-side with it and the short bus.
(does that make this truck the fire engine?)
