Great job on the projects thus far, and LOVE those seats! Comfy is a good thing, right? lol. Not sure what you'll eventually do but from the sounds of it, ....it'll be very expensive and GREAT FUN, when finished! lol. Cool wheeling pics, too, Scuba!

Comfy seats are a must! Especially when you drive 35K+ miles a year..
Thanks for the compliments Chef!

Haven't done much in the form of work on the damn thing.. Just got back from a trip to Texas..

But, I picked up a spare 35" MTR. I'll be running the new GY MTR Kevlars so this one will do fine as a spare.. But heres what it should look like on 35's

I also got a set of some bling american eagle aluminum alloys in 16X8 3.75BS. I think I'll end up rattle canning these black..

Wheelin recently.

Why waste money on those if you're just gunna rattle can them? Just get a pair of already black steelies and save your money on the bling...

Rear bumper looks good, a million times better than that square you were gunna run

Steelies are alot more heavy then Aluminum.. I couldn't pass up a deal for 100 bucks for 5 rims.. A few rattle cans and some sand paper will cost me 15 bucks..

BBP, I've heard the kevlars are pretty nice!

Yep. Got them used. The guy had them sitting for a while and wanted them to move quick. The GY MTR spare was 100 as well. I think I got a good deal all around

Yep. Thats where the fun is at. Building it, getting out on the trail and breaking it and finding where the weak links are at the same time. Then getting in the garage all day to fix it....

On my last outing I must have high centered on my Transfercase skid plate. Due to this plate being exactly where my breakover angle is the skid plate has been slowly bending upwards but only now did I realize how much. On start up and shut down the Tcase would rattle in to the plate. Wasn't a huge deal as I couldn't really see this leading to a severe failure on the transfercase but I wasn't just going to let it go.

Just before I pulled the plate for repair

I made a line at just about where the front case drop ended and where I'd be able to add metal. (Name that leak :p ) You can also see where the case was contacting just in front of the drain hole on the plate

Not the best picture but you can kind of see the gap..

I beat it out then welded this to the underside to prevent warping. You can see just how much I actually use this skid. If it wasn't there I'd have been stopped in my tracks on the trail a LONG time ago.

I had some scrap 1.5X1.5 square tube that I welded in place to add rigidity.

Painted it, bolted it up.. all is good.

Going to be giving the same treatment to my gas tank skid plate tomorrow. Also, I am in the process of finally filling in a lot of gaps in the bed bob. Not going to take pics of that as theres not much to look at.. just a bunch of booger welds.

This repair should keep me good to go for a good long time.

So with 5.29's and dual lockrites... go through many cv's? I'm about to go 5.29 and have the ability to go dual lockrites, but not sure if 2 is the right decision right now. what ya think?

Spearo, chef, and Logan, thanks y'all. I appreciate the compliments.

Prerunning, check my reply about favorite trails in this thread..
https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f148...trials-207711/

VSU, my strategy is not to talk about those things.. And keep a my foot off the skinny pedal. I'm sort of superstitious, so that's why I don't talk about breaking those things.. Love the front lockright though. My friend that has a 96 3.4 4runner that's an auto, can't seem to quit breaking shafts.. I think it's the auto vs manual though. Just keep your foot off the skinny.
