Dang, you So-Cal boys have some serious fun on IFS!

I just spent the last hour reading through this build up, and 'been so captivated that I forgot about my homework While I roll an old-school 22RE up in Santa Cruz, I'm proud to have been able to witness the enthusiasm and joy Scuba gets from his labors on my 'younger brother' truck!

Thanks boy!

Just thought I'd mention, your truck is AWESOME. Reading through your thread reminds me of the first time I saw the end of Back to the Future when he gets the murdered out yota. Sweet build man.

I don't think I posted about this when I first had the issue...

But this power steering air control valves suck.
Had the new one fail after only 10K miles.

Here's my post from another board:

We got another leaker.
Pulled it off this morning and here's what I saw..

The check valve completely came out. Gonna get it warrantied by Toyota and then sell it. I'm picking up a bolt and a crush washer right now to replace the damn thing.

Edit: the hose clamps and looped line was my attempt at a ghetto repair seeing as I'm 150 miles from home.

I put a bolt with teflon tape in there to replace the valve. I'm going to leave it there cause I don't want to deal with another one of these.

Original post about the issue when it first came up.

Pretty awesome indeed! Congrats!

I have to admit that I laughed at the swim goggles idea, pretty creative. What happened to your snow goggles?

The goggles you might have seen during previous runs were my dirtbike goggles. They let too much dust and wind into them. Thus why I picked up the swim goggles before the Rubicon run.
I wear contacts so its almost necessary on long runs like that to have the goggles. Contacts will get trashed and uncomfortable as hell when they get dirt or dust on them.

Oh gotcha, that makes a lot of sense.

Yeah,......where the heck are ya, Scoob? Miss updates on the old green machine! Hope you are doing well! I have the sneaking suspicion of this just turning into an SAS monster over your few months hiatus from here? Hmmmmmm

Sorry guys, not a whole lot of updates. I left Allpro in April 2013 and moved to Alabama to explore new opportunities. That has slowed down some progress as well as getting laid off from said company in September this year. I'm still slowly collecting parts for the SAS. Seriously hoping to have that done in the next year.

Here are some pics you guys haven't seen. These will go back to ~april 2012.

Truck now has 217K miles on it. I've battled with fuel pumps over the past year but finally got a nice Toyota pump in there. She has a few more dents, stickers, vibrations and rattles. But she's going strong.

I'm in Texas at the moment. Haven't had any luck job searching. May be going back to California. There's the update. Lol.
