as for the bad, my buddy hunter broke a ujoint we spent several hours trying to get him to a point on the trail we could safely work on itand tying to gather the need parts to rig it back together (he swears from now on he will have spare joints) lol.
and for the truckster, I have had a very small come and go leak at the top rad hose since installing the thermostat for my E fan, so when I cought the slight smell of antifreeze a few time I didnt think much of it, I check it regularly and have only had to add maybe a quart or so since july, this all changed sat afternoon when I notice atifreeze drip off the skid plate, I immediatly checked the upper hose and it looked dry, I topped it off with atifreeze we were already headed back to camp, before we got back the temp gauge shot up so we stop let it cool down and treked on again it got hot this happened several times before getting back to camp. Ive been hauling the runner to our wheeling spot the last few times Ive went just for this reason, loaded it on the trailer to head homeand as we were doing that antifreeze was no longer driping from the skid plate it was running off. got it off the trailer and back in the shop, plan to pull the radiator and go from there. two concerns are, one I never seen any steam just straight AF, and two even with the leak I dont see this being the source of the over heating although Im sure the two are connected.
more later for now its back to work.

We'll I haven't been doing much with the runner as of late, just been to cold and to much going on. I did pull the radiator awhile back and found the source of my leak, the a/c condenser was mounted improperly and rubbed a hole in the radiator, picked up a new one this past weekend and got it installed. Was having some isses with the rear locker so I pulled the actuater and re timed it hopefully that will take care of it. Also noticed while inspecting a few things that I have a torn steering rack boot on the driver side so I need to source one of those and swap it out. Like I said not much going on just an update

I've gotta do a steering rack boot too, but I haven't got 'round to looking for one. Hey, just look at the radiator as a non-milkshake insurer (well, unless you've already done the tranny cooler...).

Agree about the cold!

Parts stores usually carry the rack boots. They call them rack bellows. I got mine at Autozone.

Thanks for dropping in hab, I've already done the trans cooler, it just makes me made I didn't catch the problem sooner the radiator that was in it probably would have lasted for a long time.

I was just getting to respond to your text and see your picture better now. I like these wheels a lot better then what you had on them. Looks great!! The paint turned out really well on those too.

Thanks terry, the guy I got them from had already painted them black, I think the grey was the way to go on my truck, I like them more every time I look at it.

Been really covered up and haven't had a chance to update here. Took the runner on a week long wheeling trip a couples weeks ago, I did great no carnage other than a wheel bearing that had a little play now has a LOT, and the idler pulley for the a/c gave up. I didn't get a lot of pics but will get up what I have soon. Thanks for checking in

It was a great time but bouncing around on rocky trails for 7 days straight left this old man hurting a bit. That said I be back doing this week if I could lol.

After GSMTR the runner sat for a couple months (things have been very hectic), but it did need some attention, driver side wheel bearing was bad as well as the idle pulley for the a/c, o a few weeks ago I got it back in the shop and got those issues fixed I also replaced the steering rack boot on the driver side while I had it all apart.
that weekend we decided to load up and go to another land cruiser rally, camp and do some mild wheeling but I can't seem to find the pics I loaded to photo bucket hmmm. Any way I said mild wheeling remember me say mild, well again my luck with trees at golden MT OHV park did not turn out well ( remember the tail gate), this time it was the front I managed to hit a tree head on pushing the bumper up and back, pushing the winch into the grill ugh, put it back in the shop a couple days ago and tried to get things straightened out.
