Not really an update but wanted to throw it out there. I have made a ton of progress on this runner in the 2 years I've owned it, I love the rig and love wheeling it. But I need to finish up my 86 it has been patiently waiting on my to get back to work on it and since it has been licensed and insured since last fall and I've only put about 400 mls on it its about time.
I still have a lot planed for this one, short list is body lift to facilitate front bumper to facilitate winch Lol. I'm sure there will be other small projects but for the moment its going to be just gathering materials. Just wanted to let y'all know where I'm at.

Nice.... poor ole yeller. Haha.

Can't wait to see all this stuff on the 3rd Gen! Gotta just get it all done, but I know how hard it is when you're working on two different vehicles. I guess I'm in a similar boat right now for the first time in a while as I can't do a darn thing too old Ruby! That will change shortly, hopefully within a week, but it's a little nerve wracking. I gotta say though, it's been nice to just chill on my spare time... Although it becomes pretty stressful trying to do research and get other things ordered while the truck is gone! Grrrrrr! Lol

And thanx man.... I'm just trying to stay busy, as I'm not great with long waits.... Unfortunately I had to wait through a 10 day Vacation period....but then thats my fault. I COULD HAVE just got it in earlier or not added so much once I finally bit the bullet. Still somewhat sad about not having my blood and sweat in this one..... but c'est la vie! .......OUI? Lol

I completely understand, the lack of hands on is hard for those of us that have a true pation for these trucks. The wait will be over before you know it and you will be on to all the next projects.

Oh I am doing my best to be 80% ready to do my lighting mods when this comes in the driveway. .. AND, I have an upholstery guru near me ready to take my triple stick to task in building me a gray leather, triple shift/trans shifter combo boot! I have never seen one for this relocated kit... Would be cool! Lol

I have noticed somthing since I got this thing back on the road that has me puzzled. Its probably always been like this but I never caught it.
Ok the issue, the driver side rear looked as if it was sitting lower than the passenger side, so today I finaly put a tape to it and sure enough everywhere I measured the driver side was roughly 1.5 inches lower. Measurement were wheel lip to fender flare, ground to fender flare, cone bump stop inside coils, and outer bump stop to axle.
I called TOYTECH and they said the coils on these I side specific and that I probably have them on the wrong side. I'm aware of this issue on some tacomas but I've never heard of it on a runner. They also suggested a trim packer for that side but said it wouldn't level out that big a diffarence. I'm not sure what to do I can swap the coils and see what I get, order a trim packer and install it and see what I get or throw in the set of 80 series 9 wraps I have and see what I get. Gonna have to think on this one a bit I don't want to have to keep changing coils. Input from you guys would be great.

My OME coils were side specific. Side A/B...it's because of the fuel tank and the trim packers are for those who have to have it perfectly level at a stand still...I'm anal...but not like that. Swap em' around and I'm sure it'll square it up enough for you to be happy with it.

There's been some mention on the forums here and there, not much. Like Snowshredder says, gas tank being on the left side is why. You could just always park with the driver side on the uphill....

That makes sense. And I suppose mounting my spare tire on the driver side didn't help any either. I will try just swapping the springs and see what I get. Thanks for the input.

If you guessed Jason's loaded up to go wheeling, you are correct. Hopefully I will get some good pics and video this trip.
