Thanks! Really well. It was loaded to the rafters and still did great. The oddball mudflaps stayed on despite stuffing the wheels now and again, the Sonoran Steel 1.2 lift worked very nicely, and I even lightly tested the Trail Carnage skids from Amorphous. Besides 376 and Tincup Pass these were all trails I've done as a loaded down saggy butt stocker, the lift and tires made a big difference in how I chose my lines and what I tried. There were a couple of places where a locker would have been useful but nothing that demanded it.
Fun!

We bought an America the Beautiful National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass. Cost $80 and good for a year- worth it for us since we went to so many parks and recreational areas while we were out there- we ended up saving money just on this trip and it'll still be good when we head out that way again next year.

I'll have to look and see what I've got, we took over 1700 pics. I think I even have one with a wheel in the air. Oh yes, the truck was slightly rocking between the front left and right rear tires. Left rear tire was stuffed. Hubby jumps out of the truck and says "hold on, I gotta get a shot of this!"

96 4Runner 218,000 miles
Left lower ball joint as maintenance. Nothing indicated a need for them at this point but the number of ball joint failure threads for 3rd gens around this mileage are getting hard to ignore.
Now I've gotta get time for the right side.

Got a 1" Wabfab body lift for my birthday from my husband so we put that on today. He held bolt heads for me, which made life so much easier than doing this by myself. It was actually fair easy as there isn't much rust underneath. Nothing to break free. The worst part was getting the bolts out of the steering thingamajigger.
I know, you're all thinking what a great hubby I've got but really he figures if it gets tall enough I won't be able to get it into the garage even without the rack and he'll be able to keep both his Volvos in there.

Hmmmm, now to convince him sliders'll make it too wide to get in the garage.....

Hahaha, he's already complaining about the scale saying that I've been using too many pie-making wiles on him already.

Mmmm, pie....
I've got 3 day old chili with cornbread and brownies on deck for dinner tonight...

Finally figured out how to put my cd changer controller thingy- took off the plastic box that was around it and simply velcro'd it to the bottom of the ashtray. Ashtray still works fine and it looks a little neater now. I don't smoke and don't use the ashtray, but the hubby puts receipts in there when we go on trips sometimes.

Now I'm trying to figure out why my rear defrost doesn't work. Lookin' for the relay....
Also have a light bulb out in the defrost switch but Toyota wants $8 for it so I switched the bulbs so it will light when the defrost is on but not when the hazards are on. If I ever find a 3rd gen that's not totally stripped within an hour of hitting the pick n pull maybe I'll get a bulb that way. I don't have 8 bucks worth of a care about it.

This spring:
Get other ball joint done
Clutch- because of the throwout bearing, not the clutch, but it's got 220-some odd thousand miles on it so I might as well when I'm in there.
Power steering pump, likely.

And I'm thinking maybe seats as mine have been toast forever...gotta fix the seat mount on the driver's left front too.

Hey habsie long time no see/hear... runner's looking good.. I think somebody here found a little black rubber strip to fill the gap... not sure if it was a taco part or something he made himself from snow and ice shield (sheet rubber) roofing material.

immm pie.... came up with recipe idea for a fancy cake... once I test it I'll post it up...
I'm very covetous of your rims....
need new tires/wheels this spring...
first a new clutch though... next week... have serious slip issues almost to the point I don't want to drive my truck...

Fancy cake, eh? Will await report.

I'm covetous of my dirty ol' rims too, had to wait years to get rid of those tri-clops.

Ah yeah, I think I saw something about a sheet rubber gap strip when I was searching earlier. I need to look at the bumper mounts too, wonder if something could be done there with my limited tools...

96 4Runner.
Went to junkyard, got seats out of a Mazda....older 323, I think. I wanted seats out of a 99 3rd gen (not bloody likely around here) or a Saab or something, but for $20 each and they're clean with no dried up blood on them these'll do for awhile. One is in so far, I'll try to take pics of the process of making the square peg a little less square on the next one. Big help from the hubby here. Don't laugh, I'm afraid of cut-off wheels.

Also got another load bar, thinking for a light bar....might be too far back, though. I was thinking the long range lights up there with fogs at the bumper. Entertaining ideas/info if y'all's got any.
