Well the coilovers finally showed up so as soon as I got off work I went strait to the install. Took me a little under 4 hours to do the whole lift by my self (that includes adjusting the front coilovers to the correct ride hight). Anyway I'm very pleased with the outcome and look forward to getting some sliders and building bumpers.

Lift is on

Old tires off new tires getting balanced

Just took wire cutters to the old blinkers then did the same to the parking light's/corner lights. After that I stripped both ends and spliced the wires together so it was just like the corner lights were the blinkers. Hope that made since.

The bumpers main design was put together by bentup.com however they only made the bumper for a tacoma. The tacoma front end is quite a bit wider and mounting brackets are different so I had to do about 10 hours of fab work to build mounting brackets and move the bumper ends in about 1.5-2" on both sides. Only one ever put together on a 4runner that I know of.

Very nice build.

Any rubbing on the upper A-Arms with the 285s?

Nope I put some 1/4" spacers on and it works great.

Wanna know something kinda funny?
I went to Toyota NWA yesterday and almost traded the Taco for a 2000 4Runner, black, sport and e-locker...

Well if I get the '85 fixed up where I want it I'll either drive it or trailer it down there.
Having the '85, which is paid for, plus a 3rd gen that I'd owe only like $2k on - oh man.

Saw you driving the other day, you just about hit an old lady pulling out of the church parking lot - thought that was kid of ironic.

What size tires were on it when you bought it? Looks smaller than a 265.

I've got OME heavies on mine, and want to run 295s. However, I may need a 1" body lift as well.

Loved your old 4runner, it inspired me to lift mine.

New one is coming along great as well....why did you sell your old one?

275's actually but they were worn real bad and looked small.

I look forward to seeing your build I'm sure it will come along quite a bit quicker than mine. I'm mostly interested in the bumpers you will be building. Might be hitting you up to build me some if I like the way they come out

If you go 295's I'd say add a 1" body lift if you don't want to have rubbing issues. I rub with 2.5" of lift and 285's but it's so minor that I don't care.

Yeah, I am being torn in a few different directions at this point. If I go 295/75/16, I will need spacers and 1" BL. If I go 255/85/16 I will need a 1" BL, but no spacers. 285/75/16 will need a 1/4" spacer. The jacked up thing is that the cheapest tires in each range I want are the KM2s in the 255 size.

So, you are running 285s with 1/4 spacer up front alone, right? Would the 295 require more of a spacer? Remember that I running OME heavies with stock A-Arms.
