You may be getting the better mileage from a lighter foot rather than the upgrade.
The placebo effect is likely the cause.
Last time I change mine I did notice a bit better throttle response as well.

I was the one that said I got that 1-1.75 gain in mileage.... that was after only 1 tank so it's not all that scientific; but I also listed the conditions of the drive. It was cold and I was in a speed range that kept the RPM's lower than interstate speeds. It should be stated I didn't really GAIN the mileage, I more over REGAINED it.... I mean a fuel filter isn't going to be a performance type swap, it's only going to get you back to where the rig was when it left the factory.

well, i just changed my fuel filter.
i've had the part for a few weeks now, but kept procrastinating. i guess this thread inspired me to finally get it done.
i fully expect a 10mpg increase and supercharger-like throttle response.

I got an increase in power, and mileage. But there's the other side.... I got my exhaust fixed and my tps changed.
All that I did when I was chanign it was loosen the gas cap, it seemed to do the trick.
