I have to admit that this suspension thing worries me.

All these littlle gadgets that breaks, squeak, need extra care, works erratically, specially in their first year out.

I imagine that Toyota has worked a lot to iron out quirks. But still this worries me a bit. We'll see I guess.

Imagine arriving in the driveway and WHIZZZZZEEEE. the truck has just lowered itself in front of the neighbors to let you out of the truck. They will look for the GM logo somewhere on my Runner !!!

I hope it will be a speed sensitive thing or for off-road not a day-to-day thing.

I'll start the ISSUES list
================
1- Premium gas
2- Hydraulic suspension
3- Weird fender flares

1. I have always fed my 2nd gen Premium. Even my 22RE in my '90 truck got it.
It runs better.

2. I bet that system works good, or Toyota being the high caliber company they are would not have used it.

3. I bet Bushwacker and a few other companies come out with some different flares down the road you can switch too that look more appealing.

Hey World:

I don't mean to poop on your parade, but
the car you have now looks road worthy
as far as taking the usual wear and tear.
I am not sure how all the trim stuff will
hold up on the 2003. I'd let somebody
else test it out before I buy. What you have is really nice. Maybe you should
get a bigger boat instead. The new car thing wears off real quick when the pay-
ments start comming in. Sorry to be a poophead

That's fine CPW2002. I'm open to all opinions.

I was just reading a thread on 4X4Wire's Trailtalk and people there were bashing the 2003...

Its fine. When a company changes a model drastically it is for sure that people will balk and freak until they get used to the change and then start to either appreciate the new truck.... or not.

Most negative comments seem to be from true off-roaders having older Runners (except Corey). New SUV are not likely to appeal to that crowd. New models are moving away from their truck roots and the new styles are somewhat disturbing, at least for some.

Myself I'm into new cars. If I could afford it I would change every year.

Due to "circumstances" in 99 I leased my current Runner . The lease expires next February. The residual is very high. It is not a good financial move to keep it.

Another point. The Runner is the main family car. I want the main car to be new, clean and somewhat trendy. I like it that way. its me that ends up paying anyway ....

Hey World:

Didn't mean to come off sounding like your Dad. You're a good guy, putting
the family first. It sounds like you have
put a lot of thought into your decision.

We just went through having to get a
new truck. But with our trade-in not
running well our options were limited.

South Fl is going through a big building
boom, as are a lot of areas. But it seems
the roads are always under construction.
It's like driving an off road obstical coarse
and is hard on any vehicle.

You only live once. If you don't do what your heart says now the situation may
not be right a second time.

There I go again; cpw
