New Mods For Next Weekend!!

Alright I had to do it, I see all these supercharged rigs and I have to admit I am jealous...therefore...I have ordered my supercharger, 160 degree thermostat, and boost gauge today. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions for me for the installation? Thanks everyone for letting me share!!!

Where'd you get your 160 degree thermo?

As far as suggestions:
1) Burn all/most of the fuel in your fuel tank if it is less than 91 octane
2) Alot at least a day to complete the supercharger install. Everyone I've talked to, including myself, averages 6 to 8 hours.
3) If you don't already have them, have a complete set of metric tools, including socket wrench with shallow and deep sockets, extensions, etc.
4) Since you're replacing the thermo, while you're in there, replace the timing belt (if you haven't already and depending on mileage)
5) Replace your spark plugs. Why not? With the intake plenum off, you'll have loads of room to get a socket down in there.
6) Have fun! They're a kick in the a$$!

Word of advise, be VERY careful with the paper gasket TRD provides with the supercharger for the throttle body. I accidentally tore mine and they are not cheap!

You've opened the door to a whole new world of mods!

Hey, can't wait to see what you think. Superchargers are awesome and you will really like it. I wish that they made one for the 2nd gen Runners. Goodluck and let us know what you think. Alot of pictures would be great, and then you could put it in the tech section. Goodluck and have fun! :fireman:

Hey there Blue, thanks for the info, I only have 39K on my rig, so the timing belt should not need to be replaced....I will check it though. Anyhow, thanks again!
