wobbling gear shifter

Help me out! I need to get my "shift"er together. On my 89 V6 auto, the shifter seems so loose that passengers often knock into N when I am driving. Is there an adjustment, inside or underneath I can fiddle with?

I think there are some bushings and/or pivot points in the linkage below that you can tighten up. Never looked closely at the linkage, but I think the loose points should be quite obvious if you poke around underneath.

def. replace the shifter bushings. samething happened to me in the 300ZX. the shifts were sloppy and when in gear it was loose and wobbly. then i replaced the shifter bushing and shifting is more prescise and just makes it easier to shift. im not too familiar with toyotas but im pretty sure the problem is the bushings.
