My brain can't fathom how you could think that would work.

 

well rotating it axle clockwise 180* it would put the 3rd on the driver side... and you would then would have to put reverse cut gears (for a high pinion) in to make a non high-pinon 3rd spin the right way... i think it might work...

 

it works, buddy did it....

you dont have to mess with the gears, all you have do is take the diff out and make it right side up.

 

Seen it done. They did it on extreme 4x4

 

That is the only way it will work. Reverse cut gears is not going to do anything. You got to remember where the pinion gear is relation to the ring gear.
