I do not know the name for them but the ones like BMW's have.
The white light headlights. Has anyone installed them on an '03?
If so what do they look like?
How easy is the install?
How much the cost?

Bah! You bought a toyota, not a BMW. Deal with the halogens, you don't wanna look like the 16yr old next door who has blue headlights in his $3,000 dollar civic do you?

I do think someone else was talking about HID's in their truck just a day or two ago, maybe they can help you if you really want to do this, but it's not cheap, and not worth it IMO. There are options though if you really want it.

i've heard decent things about sylvania silverstars.

cheaper than the PIAAs, too.

no personal experience to support this (still using plain ol' boring bulbs) but passing along the impression.

I run the silverstars in my '95 pick up and I love them. I have convicned many of my friends to go out and buy a set for thier vehicles. They have a "whiter" light than normal halogen bulbs, and are great for driving at night and in the rain.

I run the Osram Silverstars. Basically the same as Silvania Silverstars, but sold outside the US and reportedly a bit brighter. Do a search on this site and you'll find some good info on them. I bought them off ebay from a guy in the UK. They are brighter than stock, but I can't give an honest comparison because I went from stock to fake HID blue ebay lights, to the Osrams. The Osrams are definitely brighter than the fake ebay HID's.

Just jumping in here because I'm interested in this also. What bulbs are you all talking about? I was looking at replacement bulbs at Walmart, Sylvanias I think. They had regular replacement bulbs 9003, and an upgrade 9003SB. If these put off blue light, I don't want them. But if they put off brighter white light, I would like to get a set.

I have Phillips Vision Plus H4 bulbs. Excellent crisp white light with a hint of blue. Excellent on dry roads, but not as good in the wet.

I tried the Silverstars, and they blew after 10 months within a week of each other; went back to stack bulbs after that. While the high beams were great, I found the low beams left something to be desired as they didn't seem to produce as much light as the stock halogens. I also couldn't justify the $20-$25 replacement cost per bulb.

The replacment for the silverstars are 9003ST. The 9003SB is a GE bulb not a Sylvania bulb. I'm unsure of what type of light the GE bulb puts out. Hope this helps
