What is this air line?

So I started converting my 04 Tacoma, 3.4L, to run on natural gas and I have a question. Can anyone tell me what the branch off the main air intake hose that I have the arrow pointed at in the picture is for?

crank case breather. It goes down to the driver's side valve cover.. Cheers!
