3rz-fe crankshaft replacement

I recently did a head gasket/timing job on my runner, 98 with 300k. Genius here (first time doing a semi big job on anything) forgot to torque crankshaft pulley bolt, and it backed out a few threads on me.

The pulley slanted and the crank spun the inside of the pulley/balancer milling it away, and in the process shaved the woodruff key off.

I'm sure you can figure the symptoms out from this brief explanation, power steering went out, ac went out, and oil pump stopped working cause the key wouldn't spin it/the pulley or other pulleys.

I have searched around for a write up or how to on what would be involved with replacing the crankshaft. I'm pretty sure I know everything around the block itself I would have to do, but can anyone explain to me whats involved with putting in a Remanufactured Crankshaft w/ main and rod bearings that I can pick up for pretty cheap through my work (O'Reilly Auto) or direct me to some information where I can find out about this.

Sounds like a rebuild, if the crankshaft is truly damaged.

Try a little file work and new key first, then check oil pressure or any weird vibration. You may be OK. Only one way to find out.

If the key is filled off, I don't see how filling is going to fix it. Its a lack of material, not an abundance of material.

the key is just slightly pressed in man. pop the broken one out and put a new one on there. If there is other damage though, then you may be screwed... That just became an expensive timing belt change.
