weathertech vent visor

I just won an auction on ebay for the fronts only. I did a search on them here and found that most of you recommend them. My question is do I need to get back ones as well or will it look ok with just the fronts? Also, If I leave my window a crack down in the summer, can they be stolen with little or no effort?

This is what they look like

Ditto what Tom said. You can leave your windows open a bit, and it will be less noticeable that they are open. However, the gaurds could be torn off pretty easily, so its not like they're going to prevent theft.

Ok so now does anyone have a set of back vent visors to get rid of?

I couldnt pass them up for the price they were going for. If they look stupid without the backs I will have to bite the bullet and purchase them at full price somewhere.

I think I got mine from JC Witney, weren't too expensive (45 bucks maybe?)- sucks if you have to buy the whole set. Maybe contact them, see if you can get just the back.

rears are a must..my windshield shades are nice and they come with the front doors shades too, so i leave the back window down a bit and it's cool as the other side of the pillow when i get in my car...

Yea I had checked that site already. 35+s&h. not bad.

So you guys just crack the window a bit to relieve the interior of heat huh. That would be nice. First off it needs to get hot up here. It hasnt hit 80 once so far this year and who knows if it will.

Weather Tech vent visor

I have been pleased with the overall performance of the WeatherTech vent visors. I could never get my auto drivers window to accept the visor with the auto pinch protection, but other than that they were nice.

I say were, because I was at the post office, rolled down my drivers window to drop some letters in the box and my vent shield followed the glass down, pulling out of the channel and dropping to the ground where immediately a loving person behind me drove over the visor! Needless to say it broke in half. I don't think I will be replacing these as they were expensive and I was not happy with the auto up glass scenario.

Just thought I would post my frustration and loss.

Holy cow, Sabre, this is a match made in Yotatech heaven!

I purchased a set of Weathertechs (front and back) about a year ago for my brother. However, the front ones were busted upon delivery. Thus I only have the rear ones! $30 (shipping included) and theyre yours. They are practically brand new. No joke. They even have the sticker/adhesive on them.

I love my weathertech vent visors (www.weathertech.com) and would highly recommend them, both front and rear, but neither have sticker/adhesive on them as they are in channel. Did I miss something in this post?

I have the same problem with mine. They look great and have a good-quality feel to them. It's just that I can use the auto up function of the drivers window.
I'd sure like to know if anyone has solved this problem.

Auto up problem on 2003 4runner

I at first tried everything. Let it sit over night with shims between glass and visor to compress gasket more. And a few other things.
Even tried another set of the vent visors.

Finally got it to work. Took my electric palm sander and sanded down the flange that sticks in the channel. Kept takeing off a little more and more until it works. I guess I ended up sanding off about 50% of the thickness.
From what I heard they seem to work fine on most new 4runners. I guess on some like mine the auto up is just a little to sensitive.

Careful. the little saw dust I got on my work bench did cause a few minor scratchs on the visors while it was moving a little when I was trying to hold it and sand
