Is there any way to tell which water pump the 5vz has without actually tearing into it? There is two types listed. one with a cooler tube and one without.

posting this question for a friend its a 98 or 99 4runner automatic 4x4

we were going to call dealership with the vin number and see if they could tell us but the truck was from the USA and imported into Canada and has had the old VIN plate removed and replaced with a canadian VIN

Follow your oil dipstick as it goes into the engine. It will go right behind the thermostat housing and right in front of the rubber water hose to the oil cooler. If there is no rubber hose there, you want the pump without the tube.

Does it have an external coolant line to the oil cooler??

Get both pumps take the wrong one back
