water getting in with elbow mod
I did the air elbow mod a couple months ago, but now ive moved to Lubbock, TX where we get a lot of rain and i have to pass through huge puddles. The problem is that now im pretty sure im getting water into the intake. Even when it rains hards and i start up my truck the engine shudders and im afraid i might seriously mess something up. Is there any way to fix this without getting rid of the mod.
Thanks

You might want to put the elbow back in and then do the deckplate mod. That way you can seal up the airbox when you need to...
Also look in the airbox and see if water is pooling in the bottom. The stumbling engine may just be signs of it reacting to higher humidity. Have you had a tune-up lately?

Ive thought about doing the deckplate mod, but right now im at college and i have all my tools at home and i wont be driving back till december. The humidity at times is 100% and i had a tune up about 2 months ago.

If you get a lot of rain, you'll want to put the elbow back in and do the deckplate as stated earlier.
I've gone through some sizeable puddles and then opened the air filter lid only to see a small puddle in the bottom of the box. That almost resulted in a small puddle in my shoes. I put the elbow back on and sealed everything up with sensor safe silicone. Now, it's up to the deckplate to provide the air.

Just wait. If your in Lubbock, the three days of rain you have seen so far will end soon and the dust will start blowing. You will wish you had water to use to clean off your air filter from all the dust.
