W56 vs G58 transfer case

W56 vs G58 transfer case
91 4x4 x-cab with bad W56 trans
Can a G58 trans be switched into my truck with a W56 transfer case. or do you need to switch the t-case also. I have a G trans waiting to go in and it would be cheaper to replace the W t-case with the chain drive G t-case than it would be to find a W transmission.
I know the W is a better trans/t-case but I dont 4 wheel this truck often, it a daily driver more than anything.
So...... can this be done or are there other issues???
