Very Confused... 1/2" lift from OME881?
howdy all.... so Im very confused. i picked up a set of OME881s on beilsten struts. I put the one assembly on the truck and Im only getting 1/2" of lift.
Now my truck has always sat high in the front. Its a '99, but Im confused. On the stock side, from center of the hub to the bottom of the fender flair (SR5) it is 21.5 inches. On the new OME881 side, it is 22 inches.
So im wondering if my "stock" set up is actully that. My stock set up is a tokico strut with a coil that has a blue and a pink/red swatch. My rig is a '99 SR5 with 160k miles. I would think if it is stock it would have sagged some in the past 160k miles.
Do the OME's have sides like the factory springs do? drivers side and passenger? I do not see any color swatches on them?
any help out there?

If I'm not mistaken the 881's provide 1.25"-1.5" over stock and from what I can tell the lift measurements are from the 96-98 4Runners. The 99's and early 00's sit one inch higher than any other year 4Runner, so 1.5" on a 98 with 881's would only be .5" on a 99.

I got the same results, about .5 inch of lift in the front. For the 99's, I think the 881's give you about .5 inches of lift. I was very surprised too. My 891's in the rear lifted it about 1", maybe a little more.

I just purchased a 99 SR5, (no pics yet) and per your request for measurements, I get 21.5" from center of hub to fender lip at the front and 21" passenger side and 22" drivers side rear. Looking underneath I think its still stock suspension (107K miles) and looking at the measurements I need new springs.

Just wanted to second the thought..kinda hesitant of putting the 881's on my 97' that are sitting in my living room. Just waiting for a new top plate for instal to remove my daystar coil spacer. What I've found is that it would give you 2.5 of lift but on Toytec's site they state a full 3. We'll see when they go on but moving forward the info above sounds right--the 99 does sit higher.

I just did the 881 lift on my 2002 4runner (the so called low-rider of the 3rd gen's). It provided 2.5" of lift exactly.
If your stock '99 is 2" higher than the stock '02, you will only get 0.5".

I think your front would be higher than the rear. IMO go with the OME 890's. They'll give aboue 2.25" to 2.5" of lift and should be almost even with the front.

Sounds like you have a Sonoran suspension on that rig already. Tokico shocks are not standard and that set-up is old school Sonoaran. He uses factory Toyota shocks/struts these days.

You only got 1/2" because you didn't use a topout spacer up front.
Typical gains vs year
96-98 => 1.5"
99 => 0.5"
00 => 1.5"
01-02 => 2.5"
