Valet Key

So I just tried for the third time since purchasing my 4runner, to use the key in the hatch to get the back window to roll down.
Is this because I am operating with the Valet key?
If so, is there a easy way to get the original key?

You have to hold the key in position for a second or two to get it to move?

Not a key issue going to be an issue with the switch attached to the key cylinder

If your key works in the glove box, then its the "normal" key. If it doesn't, then its the valet key. The valet key shouldn't even be able to turn the glove box lock.

So if your back window isn't rolling down, its a window motor problem. Have you tried using the switch on the center console to roll it down?

So the key works in the glove box. I guess I have a key cylinder switch issue. I have no idea if I am going to pursue this issue anymore. Unless somebody can give me a really good reason I would want to open my window from the hatch. I dare you.

I use mine a lot when camping at the coast. I don't want crap to fall out after the 200 mile drive then 30 miles down a rough 4x4 only beach. I just roll the window down to grab my tackle box or whatever.
